Small suggestion if you ever make a video like this again:
Wind rarely comes from one side continuously — it will turn and also hit potential weakpoints like the side or back. Another comment also mentioned that weight in the tent could make a difference, so keep a dummy or something similar inside. Finally: Instead of an airport you could maybe rent a wind tunnel. That would make the process of turning the tent a whole lot faster and save you precious time filming.
Still cool af video though, you’re the perfect amount of mad. 😂❤
Would have been cool to see staple light weight wind-tents like Hilleberg Enan, Tarptent Rainbow Li, Nordisk Lofoten LW, Tarptent Scarp 1 or single trecking pole tents (pyramid) like bonfus middus or even the pioneer hyperlight mountaingear ultamid or mid1. The cheap 3FUL Lanshan 1 pro would also be interesting. Other light weight tents like slingfin portal 1, liteway illusion or even six moon designs tents.
I am really curious of how trecking pole single peak pyramid tents would do in this test, as it does seem like the most weight efficient design for above treeline adventures. There are so many tents that claim wind performance, and the wind performance to weight ratio is the most interesting thing to get an overview of on the market, I say … particularly the bonfus middus 1p, but also the z-packs equivalents. If you can afford a round 2, now that many tent manufacturers have released new tents, I would share the video everywhere and try my hardest to get views to it and your channel!
What I dont understand is the weight it takes to pull stakes out of the ground is only 24 kg, and you can still destroy the hardware of the tent that connects to the guyline from the way the wind throws the tent around … what does this say about these guylines tha can handle 3500 newtons of force … are they disproportionally scaled? Do we not want the guyline to snap rather than the tent to rip? Guylines are so much easier to replace … and carrying lighter ones would not hurt either.
